Educational and Counseling Assistance for 
New and Existing Businesses

Profile . . .

The Small Business Development Center at Wright State University - Lake Campus provides free, comprehensive counseling and management training to new and existing small businesses.

    The SBDC at the Lake Campus is affiliated with the Ohio Department of Development and the Small Business Administration to provide the greatest range of business expertise and service to clients of the Center.

The goals of the SBDC are the following:

  • integrate business training and business development in West Central Ohio

  • provide comprehensive short and long-term training to new and existing businesses

  • promote and support assistance from Center volunteers in specific areas pertaining to all aspects of business operations

  • direct and assist special project groups or agencies within the Center's service area of Auglaize, Mercer, and Van Wert Counties.

     Information obtained while assisting a small business will remain confidential.

SBDC Staff

Thomas A. Knapke
Dr. Knapke is Professor Emeritus of Management at Wright State University and currently teaches courses as well as directs the Lake Campus' new MBA Program

William R. Tracewell
Mr. Tracewell is an Adjunct Instructor at Wright State University and teaches courses in Tax Accounting.  He is a retired IRS agent, analyst, and manager.

Ronald A. Kremer 
Mr. Kremer is an Assistant Professor of Accountancy of WSU and leads the VITA Program.

James M. Schwartz
Dr. Schwartz works with hardware and software; he is an Associate Professor of English at WSU.
